Raise Hell for Rowlett's

I am putting out a personal plea for every person that reads this blog or is a member of the Western Theater in the Civil War Facebook group to send a message to the American Battlefield Trust to do something with the property at Rowlett's Station battlefield near Munfordville, Kentucky. The property on my last visit was overgrown and in desparate need of maintenance, and my maintenance inquiry to the Trust a few years ago went unanswered.
Let's make Rowlett's Station an early war battlefield experience for battlefield trampers to enjoy. This small battle is important due to the control of the Louisville & Nashville Rail Road, it includes a variety of interesting troops from Texan Rangers to German infantry, and it is one of the rare uses of infantry squares being used during the Civil War. The location is an easy drive from I-65, much easier to reach than Camp Wild Cat, and it could be a lift to the local economy by creating a battlefield for travelers and history buffs to enjoy.
I have a series of videos on the battlefield that talks about the battle to a degree, but more so about hos the site could be developed. Small battlefields can be gems - see nearby Tebbs Bend as an example.
Here is the contact information for the American Battlefield Trust. Please send an email to all of these addresses asking what the plan is for the Rowlett's Station property and how it is overgrown and in need of maintenance.
For more information on how Rowlett's Station could be developed into a model battlefield, see this blog post:
And for more history of the battle, see these posts:
Let's create a grassroots effort to get the Rowlett's Station battlefield to a respectable condition, and help develop this group into a battlefield experience. If the Trust can spend millions on Fredericksburg and get their dander up every time a parcel at Gettysburg becomes available, let's have them become accountable for maintaining their properties in the Western Theater!
